Simone Mori has over 30 years of experience in the Energy, Environment, and Infrastructure sectors. He has participated in the design of the electricity and gas markets in more than 25 countries, gaining unique insights into market dynamics, regulation and climate policy in Europe and worldwide.
He provides strategic and regulatory advisory services for utilities, industries and financial institutions and supports start-ups developing green technologies.
Simone spent many years in the “Brussels bubble”, acquiring extensive experience of European decision-making processes. He is a board member of Bruegel and has collaborated with many international think tanks, including the Centre on Regulation in Europe, the East-West Institute, the German Marshall Fund of the US and the Observatoire Mediterranéen de l’Energie.
Earlier he held several executive management roles, coordinating Enel Group’s activities in Russia, Romania, Slovakia, and Greece, as well as managing regulatory, antitrust, environmental, and innovation policies in Europe and worldwide. He also managed Enel’s Beijing office, overseeing one of the largest portfolios of Carbon Credits globally.
He has held several important roles in business associations. As President of Assoelettrica, the Italian association of electricity companies, he led the creation of Elettricità Futura, the first association in Europe integrating traditional utilities and renewable developers. He served as Board Member of Eurelectric and was a member of the Advisory Board of Business Europe.
He teaches Economics and Management of Energy Business at Luiss University in Rome.
